Following the establishment of the mail station and nearby Camp on Pawnee Fork (later Fort Larned), a new road was developed. Replicating The Post-1859 Route southwest of Fort Larned for 3.1 miles, it then took a southerly orientation of 7 miles to merge with The Wet Route near Coon Creek Crossing.Site Fort Larned
