Ash Creek Crossing on the Santa Fe Trail. The crossing was to the west of the place where the creek crosses the road on the north side. This crossing of Ash Creek is where Susan Shelby Magoffin's carriage upset on July 4, 1846. About 1947 the cutdown for the crossing was filled in to gain more farm ground by the owner.
