These are the Wetzel Ruts number one. The multiple deep ruts are in ten yard wide lane that runs to the east from the farm yard. The ground on both sides of this lane has been farmed for years and the ruts don't show up in this kind of ground to well, although there is a faint dark colored line running north and south on both sides of the lane in the lower right corner of the photo if you look close. The marker is set in the north fence line of the lane.
These Santa Fe Trail Ruts were plowed under and destroyed in 2003. More history gone for the future.
