Near this location was the September 4, 1825 Campsite of the Survey Team. This Campsite would have been closer to the Arkansas River. The marker is located in the northeast corner in the fence line of this darker colored field just to the east of the ruts. The dark lines just under the circle in the photo are Wetzel number two Santa Fe Trail Ruts.
