At this location the Pre 1859 Dry Route and the Post 1859 Dry Route crossed the Big Coon Creek. Cutdowns can be seen at several locations along this part of the creek. The marker is placed on the north side of the county road, the crossing is to the southwest of the marker about one quarter of a mile.
