In this photo the ruts run across the southeast corner of the cemetery and exit to the south side of the road. The marker is in the southeast corner of the cemetery. In the photo ruts can be seen to the south of the cemetery turning to the west and heading for Pawnee Fork Crossing. When you visit this site look at the top of the chain link fence on the east side, every dip in the fence is a Santa Fe Trail Rut.
