HISTORIC DESCRIPTION: Crossing of Buckner Creek on The Fort Hays/Fort Dodge Road. Some confusion revolves around the trading ranch at Buckner Creek. The 1871 township survey map indicated Schull's Ranch at this crossing. However, there was another crossing located .5 mile to the southwest. There, a dugout remains, perhaps the evidence of another ranch reported to have been situated there. Both ranches were established in the Santa Fe Trail era of the Fort Hays/Fort Dodge Road.
DISTANCE: From Pawnee Fork crossing (Site I-13), 13 miles, Davidson.
COMMENTS: None
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: SE 1/4, Section 31, T-22-S, R-22-W, Hodgeman County, Kansas.
