Dyson Ruts on the Fort Hays/Fort Dodge Road. These Ruts are the lines in the center of the photo running north and south. These fine set of ruts run from a place called Sawlog Creek Crossing about two miles to the north of this location. The limestone post marker is located on the east side of the road at the mile line with the ruts approaching the marker from the northeast. This location is easy to get to because of the road which is not maintained, so enter at your own risk. From this location to the north there is about four miles of ruts that can still be seen today. The ruts run across pasture land that can not be reached by car as there are no roads. The road to this marker is not good when it is wet or dry.
