Cow Creek Crossing, Rice County, Kansas. This crossing on the trail is about four miles west and one south of Lyons, Kansas. At this location is the site of Buffalo Bill's Well. Buffalo Bill Mathewson operated a trading post and ranche at this location in the early 1850's.
