Flag Spring, Oklahoma is located in Section 32, T5N, R5E, is the Upper Cimarron Spring of the Santa Fe Trail. It is about three miles south of the Cimarron River, and half a mile north of the Santa Fe Trail, which is preserved as a broad track a hundred feet wide south and east of the spring. Flag or Upper Springs was another welcome campsite with water on this long dry route of the Santa Fe Trail.
