"Faye Anderson Award"
January 20, 2008
The Wet/Dry Routes Chapter is pleased to announce that the 2008 Faye Anderson Award was presented to Jerome Herrmann of Kinsley at the Chapter’s winter meeting on January 20, 2008. On Mr. Hermann’s property are several pronounced ruts remaining from the Dry Route of the Santa Fe Trail. In past years, an Eagle Scout Project was completed in relation to these ruts. Over the years, one of the deepest ruts had been used as a landfill. The project involved the removal of several truck loads of trash and the planting of grass. Mr. Herrmann has generously allowed the public to visit these ruts, perhaps the most dramatic in the entire length of the Santa Fe Trail.

The 2008 Faye Anderson award is well deserved.
Congratulations, Jerome and thanks for saving trail history!
