"Faye Anderson Award"

Faye Anderson's Daughter, Joan Forest presented the 2005 Faye Anderson Award, to Larned State Hospital of Larned, Kansas. Accepting the Award was Dr. Mark Scutter, Superintendent, on Sunday, January 23, 2005 in Kinsley, Kansas. The award was presented by Faye Anderson's daughter Joan Forest of Larned, Kansas and took place during the winter meeting of the Wet/Dry Routes Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail.On the west side of the LSH property, along the east bank of the Pawnee River is one of the finest examples of a cutdown there is alone the entire length of the Santa Fe Trail. This location is also known as the Pawnee Fork Crossing on the Post-1859 Dry Route. Also on this property is the location of Boyd Ranche, a trading post in trail days. Both of these priceless pieces trail history are being preserved for future trail buffs to enjoy.
