Winter Meeting
The chapter winter meeting was conducted at Kinsley, Kansas, January 11, 2004. Officers elected for 2004 are President David Clapsaddle, VicePresident Barbara German, Secretary/Treasurer Robert Sallee, Program Director David Clapsaddle. Retiring President Rusti Gardner was presented a plaque in recognition of her leadership for the past two years. The Faye Anderson Award was given in honor of the late Paul Bentrup. On hand to receive the award on behalf of Bentrup was Dub Couch of Rocky Ford, Colorado, board member of National Santa Fe Trail. Considerable discussion was devoted to the Auto Tour and Directory of Santa Fe Trail Sites, an online program dedicated to the 125+ sites marked by the chapter. A round of applause goes to Larry Mix for his hard work in the development of this auto tour guide. Following refreshments provided by Larry and Carolyn Mix, the program was presented via a video tape, The Lost Expedition.

As one can recognize from the above minutes, our chapter can take pride in the Auto Tour and Directory of Santa Fe Trail Sites which has come online in recent weeks. Hats off to Larry & Carolyn Mix for their good work.

Jana Marshall
Our sympathy is extended to Ross Marshall, National Santa Fe Trail past president and member of the chapter, in the death of wife Jana in January. Her sweet countenance will be missed by all who knew her.

Cleat Walters
We are sorry to announce the loss of Clete Walters, in March, who was a long time chapter member. Our deepest sympathies are extended to wife Virginia. His engaging smile and sense of humor will be missed by all.

Spring Meeting
The spring meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 18, 2 P.M. at the Christian Church in Pawnee Rock. The speaker will be Robert Yarmer of Ellinwood. Robert, a well-known collector of fine artifacts, will make a presentation on trade beads. Be there to hear his commentary and view his exhibit.
