"Church Services at Sibley Campsite"

     These Church Services were held in conjunction with the 1998 Rendezvous in Larned, Kansas. The title of the program was "Sabbath on the Trail" with Ross Marshall, Santa Fe Trail Past President. Trail Side Church Service, was given by Rev. Richard Graves, Circuit Rider Chaplain.

     The historic property at 502 West 2nd Street in Larned, Kansas is the location described by George Sibley as the August 31, 1825 campsite of the Santa Fe Road survey team, was recently purchased by local history enthusiasts; Bob Rein, Mildon Yeager, and David Clapsaddle, members of the Wet & Dry Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail. The property has undergone a number of improvements. The removal of building, trees and debris have been the first steps in the development in the sight named Sibley's Camp.
